LIBRARY INTERSESSION SCHEDULES:

Please note the special Library schedules for the
intersession period between the end of final exams and the beginning of the
Spring Semester: Saturday, December 22 through Sunday, January 13. Library areas on the 14th floor
are closed for this entire period.

CLOSED: The Library is completely closed for the long
weekend of Christmas: Saturday through Tuesday, December 22-25; the long
weekend of New Years: Saturday through Tuesday, December 29 – January 1; and
the weekend of January 5 & 6.

4th & 7th FLOORS OPEN: These
Library areas are open with all services from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday –
Friday, December 26-28; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays beginning January
2. Also open with all services from noon
to 8 p.m. on the weekend of January 12
& 13.


Extended Study Hall Hours

Effective Monday, November 12, all Library study areas and computer labs on the 7th and 14th floors of 40 Worth St. remain open extended Study Hall hours that run from regular closing time until 2:00 a.m. These same areas also open one hour early, at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

During the extended hours there are no librarians on duty, but the Study Hall areas are patrolled by security guards. Study Hall is for NYLS students only; please make sure to have your NYLS ID ready to show the guard.

The Library space on the 4th floor of 40 Worth St. is not open during the extended Study Hall hours, but rather functions on the regular semester schedule. Thus, the Library’s book collections, Circulation, and the Reserve Room will close at 11 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. All circulation transactions, including borrowing and return of books; and charge-out and charge-in of Reserve materials must be completed by regular closing time.

Extended Study Hall hours are suspended for Thanksgiving break, Wednesday November 21 through Sunday November 25. They resume on Monday November 26. The extended hours will then continue for the duration of the exams period.


Library Hours during Intersession

Please note that the Library is open on a reduced schedule, and that areas of the Library are closed, during the intersession period between the end of the Summer Semester and the beginning of First Week: Wednesday, July 25 through Tuesday, August 14.

During this entire period Library areas on the 14th floor are closed, and the Library is completely closed on weekends.  Library areas on the 7th floor are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.  The 4th floor Library, including book collections, Reserve, Reference, and all other Library services are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.


Library Schedule Independence Day Holiday

All Library areas are closed on July 4, 2007 (Wednesday) for Independence Day.

Thursday through Sunday (July 5-8) – Study Hall is open on the 14th floor of 40 Worth Street.
All other Library Services (book collections, circulation, computer labs) are not available.  All other 40 Worth floors are closed.

Regular hours will resume on Monday, July 9, 2007.


Library Schedule Reductions During Intersession


The Library will be open reduced hours during Intersession, May 11 to 28.


We will close at 6 pm on the last day of finals, Friday May 11.  Weekend hours on May 12-13 and May 19-20 will be noon to 8 pm.  Weekday hours beginning May 14 will be 9 am to 9 pm.


For Memorial Day Weekend, the Library will close at 6 pm on Friday May 25, and remain closed Saturday through Monday, May 26-28.


During the entire Intersession period, May 11-28, all Library study rooms and computer lab spaces on the 14th floor will be closed.


Library Can’t Catch a Break!

The Library remains open during Spring Break, including all services and study areas. 

Monday through Friday, April 2 – 6, we’re open 8 am to 10 pm. 

And the weekends of March 31 – April 1, and April 7 – 8 we’re open noon until 8 pm.



Extended Study Hours

Beginning Monday, November 14 the Library will remain open extra Study Hall hours that run from regular closing time until 2:00 a.m.  Also, the Library will open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  During these extra hours there are no librarians on duty, but the Library is patrolled by security guards.  All Library study spaces remain open, but Circulation and the Reserve Room are closed.  All circulation transactions, including borrowing and return of books; and charge-out and charge-in of reserve materials must be complete by regular closing time.  Study Hall is for NYLS students only.  Students should remember to bring their NYLS ID Cards, as the guards will check for them at closing time.  The extended hours will remain in effect through December 22, which is the last day of finals.

The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 23 and will remain closed until the first day of Spring Semester classes, which is Monday, January 9.  We are still in the process of planning for this interim period, and for policies and procedures in the 40 Worth Street space.  We will announce these details in group emails, so please watch for these notices.
