To better accommodate your study needs during the home stretch, the Mendik Library will stay open until midnight starting Wednesday, July 18th through Sunday, July 22nd .

Just a reminder that the Mendik Library will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday July 4, 2012, in celebration of Independence Day. The Library will be open on Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6, from 10:00 a.m.—9:00 p.m. We will be open for regular summer weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8, 10:00 a.m.—9:00 p.m.

Effective Monday April 23, all study areas and computer labs in the Mendik Library will remain open late night and early morning hours. The late hours extend to 2 a.m. every day, and the Library space reopens at 7 a.m. every morning. This Study Hall schedule will remain in effect through the end of the exams period.
During the Study Hall period all areas behind the Circulation Desk, including the Reserve Collection and the Reserve Reading Room, will close at 11 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Library opens for business at 8 a.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. on weekends.

All Circulation transactions, including borrowing and return of books, as well as charge-out and charge-in of Reserve materials, must be completed by regular closing time. Important Notice about Online Access: As a result of Con-Ed’s power shutdown at 185 West Broadway this weekend, you will not have access to any of our online network services, including the online catalog and all online databases. You will, however, be able to access both Lexis and Westlaw at their respective websites.
The Office of Information Technology will begin working to restore access to the Library’s online resources on Sunday, December 20, and hopes to have some services restored by Sunday afternoon. Barring any unforeseen issues, we should be fully operational on Monday morning.

The NYC Fire Department will be here this Sunday, Sept 13, to conduct an extensive test of the fire alarm system throughout 185 West Broadway.
Because the fire alarm testing will be disruptive, the Library will be open from 12 noon to 10 p.m.
For additional study spaces, please use any of the classrooms in the A, B, and C building or the conference room in the 5th floor of the C building.
This Sunday, August 30, the NYC Fire Department will be conducting mandatory and comprehensive tests of the fire alarm system in the new building at 185 West Broadway. We have been advised that fire alarms will be sounding throughout the building between 9 am and 4 pm. For safety sake, these alarms will naturally be loud and distracting.
Under these circumstances, the law school has decided to delay the opening of the 185 West Broadway building until 12 noon on Sunday. When the building does open, the tests will still be in progress, and there will likely be noisy disruptions moving from floor to floor. However, the Stiefel Reading Room, on the first floor of A Building will also be open, and will be a reliably quiet study space for the duration of the testing. The tests will be over by 4 pm, and the Library will remain open until its regular closing time of 10 pm.
We apologize for this inconvenience, which is necessary if we are to keep the new building open under the NYC Fire Code.
